The Story
Behind Mantaro

Owner Kotaro Tsuji

The Story Behind Mantaro – Bringing Father's “Delicious” to More People.

Mantaro was born from a simple wish: to share the delicious flavors created by the owner's father, who dedicated his life to mastering Chinese cuisine, with as many people as possible.
Father creates the food. I create the restaurant.

While cherishing the delicious flavors passed down from my father, we aim to create more than just a place to eat—a place where people can enjoy good food, smiles, and memorable moments.

We will continue creating a restaurant where everyone who chooses Mantaro from among so many options can leave thinking, “I'm glad I came here.”

The owner and his father

Meet the Owner's Father

Born in 1956, he graduated from a culinary school specializing in Japanese cuisine before moving from Kagawa to Osaka. He entered the world of Chinese cuisine and began his career working as a delivery worker.
He later became an executive and the No. 2 leader of a Chinese restaurant chain with around 30 locations. For approximately 30 years, he was involved in the heart of the culinary business, overseeing product development and serving as head of the central kitchen.
He also served as an external instructor at culinary schools, bringing the skills and experience he had developed over many years to Mantaro. He has since stepped away from active work as a chef.
